Be the solution to your customers’ demands for a smarter work experience
Today’s physical workspaces are undergoing radical transformations driven by forces such as:
The disconnect between IT and collaboration is part of the problem
A significant part of the problems described above is that many organizations’ networking solutions (e.g., access points, video cameras, switches, IoT devices) don’t communicate with their collaboration solutions (e.g., Webex Desk Pro, Webex app, Webex Board). As a result, the IT network is a critical target for innovation—enabling the kind of disruptive change required to meet today’s business demands, and that’s why Cisco created the Digital Network Architecture (DNA). Cisco DNA is an intelligent system that encompasses policy, automation, analytics and open platform capabilities to deliver on all required aspects of an intent-based network.
Within the DNA system, Cisco DNA Spaces and Meraki Smart Spaces enable partners to harness data from an existing Wi-Fi infrastructure and digitize physical spaces, including visitors, guests, employees and things (assets, sensors, smart devices). The solution allows admins to:
  • See what’s happening at specific locations
  • Extend platform capabilities and drive business outcomes
  • Act on insights using engagement toolkits
By bringing networks and experiences together and creating smart workspaces, companies can:
  • Transform static floor maps into interactive, dynamic 3D maps for contextual employee, student and visitor experiences
  • Provide real-time occupancy and air quality updates to create safe, healthy spaces
  • Show employees live meeting rooms and desk availability and allow them to view booking information and hold empty meeting rooms
  • Visualize how space is being used and make informed decisions to improve utilization and optimize real estate
Some additional Cisco DNA business benefits include:
  • 85% faster network services provisioning
  • 79% reduction in network installation costs
  • 2x more software value than individual components with license portability
  • 100x faster threat detection
  • 80% more energy savings and reduced maintenance costs
The goal of Cisco DNA is to enable intent-based networking, where the network continually learns, adapts and protects users. Within the intuitive network is a variety of components. One of them is Software-Defined Access (SDA), a capability that combines the power of policy-based networking, intelligent network fabric and automation to make intent-based networking a reality. SDA makes the network look like a large virtual switch to the users and devices connecting to it. Establishing a virtualization layer for the end user and the network node is becoming increasingly necessary to manage the growth of people and devices getting on to the network. Virtualization allows for agility and flexibility in ways that previously were unavailable.
SDA also enables security and segmentation within the network, making it intuitive to segment your network of IoT (Internet of Things) devices, guest devices and user devices within a single, converged infrastructure. Furthermore, SDA combines wired and wireless networks within the intelligent network fabric and makes it easier to roam anywhere in the network while providing uninterrupted mobility services to the end user. It also enables IT teams to offer customized services to different lines of business.
